Good Work Shaz !!!!!!
God Bless short people :)
LOL! But seriously, thanks for the info Shaz - I will definitely write a letter. See, I'm supporting you now aren't I???
TV is haraam! ... i will object to this... and everything else you support! muhahaha (6)
What's the big deal with this Bridges TV anyways? Who really watches TV? What good would come from a channel that will probably be devoted to 24 hours a day worth of infomercials about hijaabs and jilbaabs?
If you want a REAL channel, petition the CRTC for Al-Jazeera. :)
I suggest taking a look at the Bridges TV website and you'll see that there's a lot more than just infomercials on selling hijabs and jilbabs. There is such a variety of programming from social issues, to comedy and even cooking shows. It'll DEFINITELY be something a Muslim household (and even non-Muslim) households) can use. I'M sure if people wanted to bring Al-Jazeera here they would have petitioned for that by now as well.
So RS, if you object to everything I support, then what happens if I support your basketball team in the playoffs? =P
I'd like to end off with the wise words of Faisal... "God Bless short people"!!!! :D
Actually, people did petition the CRTC about Al-Jazeera but the CRTC turned it down regardless since there was huge opposition to the channel from right-wingers...
(something about it being a breeding ground for terrorist-ideology if I remember correctly)
Shaz you make a great point. Any medium that will give a more positive light on Islam will only be for the better. Many people do watch TV, and these days it's more and more difficult to find programming that the whole family to watch. As well, kids these days are glued to the tv more than ever before. Whatever this new station chooses to air - whether they be hijab/jilbab commercials or otherwise, it will at lease help kids to gain more interest on Islam on their own, as well as teach non-Muslims about Islam.
